The Full Story

Hello All!!

Thank you for viewing my page!!

I’d like to give you a little background on my journey relating to the creation of my Handcrafted Exotic Wooden Pens.

I started making these unique and one-of-a-kind pens in 2002, basically because I was bored. It was a very long and cold winter in Michigan, which prompted my desire to start a hobby. I've always been good with my hands and very creative! I studied art under an artist named David Barr. He created sculptures that are displayed all over the world.

I’ve been making exotic wooden pens for over 23 years. Usually, I get bored easily but there is one thing about pens that keeps my interest, the endless possibilities!!! I combine several different materials into one pen and no two pens are alike. That's what keeps my interest. I do not like making the same thing repeatedly.

I have combined wood with metal with resin, flowers, cacti, crushed stone, polymer clay, aluminum, copper, brass, tree roots, and what amazes me is that I keep on thinking of more and more unique combinations. Recently I've been experimenting with polymer clay and resin. I have found nothing else that has kept my interest this long.

This is a hobby that I really enjoy. I hope you enjoy my creations. I like to think of pens as functional Art!!! I believe that these pens should be displayed and not used but that is totally up to you, they will function as a pen!!! But who uses writing instruments anymore?

What has made this Hobby a real joy for me is the fact that I have combined so many different materials together and it has not been an easy process. I found in my life that I really like to solve problems and with each unique combination there is always an issue.

That's why I like to say that these pens are “born” not created. Because to me birth means some kind of pain. And each one of these pens that I have created has been a challenge in one way or another, but I feel they have come out very beautiful and have been well worth the effort.

Judge for yourself!!!

You're not paying for a pen to write with you're paying for the art and one of a kind handheld beauty!!!
